About the event

Join Howard EcoWorks for a hands-on volunteer opportunity at Leafy Screen Adopt a Spot in Columbia! Volunteers will help restore local habitat and forests through a combination of invasive plant removal and native perennial planting.

This work will help improve the health of the site while creating better habitat for pollinators, birds, and other local wildlife. No previous gardening or restoration experience is required. Our team will provide instruction, tools, and guidance throughout the activity.

Volunteer Activity

Help improve the health and biodiversity of the Leafy Screen Adopt a Spot by removing invasive plants and planting native perennials. Volunteers will learn about the importance of native plants and their role in supporting local wildlife and healthy ecosystems. The activity will begin with invasive plant removal before transitioning to native perennial planting.
