SOAK IT UP!
2025
On June 12, 2025, we hosted our 3rd Annual Soak it Up! Fundraiser to support our mission of empowering communities and diverse workforces to conserve and restore our natural systems for future generations.
We were joined by dignitaries Howard County Executive Calvin Ball, Senator Katie Fry Hester, and Howard County Council Members Deb Jung and David Yungmann.
Speakers:
-
Calvin Ball III, Howard County Government Executive
-
Lori Lilly, Founder and Director of Howard EcoWorks
Additionally, we presented our first ever Soak It Up! Awards in recognition of outstanding partners who have contributed to our organization's growth.
-
The Soak It Up! Award was presented to the Chesapeake Bay Trust, for providing EcoWorks with many grants over the years that have allowed us to implement projects in vulnerable communities with our green job trainees. The award was accepted by Jana Davis, CBT's President.
-
The Brown-Eyed Susan Award was presented to David Yungmann, Howard County Council Member, for his public service and past support of EcoWorks' budget and organizational growth.
Location: Main Street Ballroom in Ellicott City
Live music by The Wafflers
Catering by Crave Catering CO
Beverages by Wine Bin
Photography by Steven Sekellick (Howard County Government), Charlie Davies, and EcoWorks Staff
Alongside special guest speakers, we were delighted to have many of our sponsors, alumni, and community members join us in support.
We dedicated significant effort to celebrating EcoWorks' achievements and showcasing our values. Informational boards detailed our future developments, while slideshows and interactive activities highlighted our past accomplishments. Our goal was to bring EcoWorks to life for our community, celebrating our past, present, and future.
