Plant Characteristics
- Duration: Annual, Biennial or Short-Lived Perennial but reseeds prolifically
- Size: Typically grows to a height of 1-3 ft.
- Bloom Color: Bright yellow petals with a dark brown to black center. Our stock has high genetic variability, you can really see the impact of not being inbred in these! Some flowers are 1", some 2.5" across, a few have brown dots at the base of the petal, most don't, a few even have double petals.
- Bloom Time: Summer to Fall
- Leaves: The leaves are rough-textured, ovate, and often have a hairy surface. They are green and provide a complementary backdrop to the vibrant blooms.
