Field Assistant
Seasonal, Part-Time
Reports to: Field Operations Manager

Job Overview:
The Field Assistant is a part-time position which offers technical support for the
implementation of Howard Ecoworks’ field operations. Field work may include conducting a variety
of inspections, performing site assessments to qualify sites for project work, and more. Office duties
will include supporting the tracking of project and project metrics, ordering of materials and plants,
preparing project reports, customer communications, etc.
Qualifications & Requirements:

Gardening, natural resources or related education and experience

Knowledge of and experience with local native and invasive plants
-
Willingness to work outside in all weather conditions

Must have a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record;

Must have their own transportation (mileage will be reimbursed at the Federal rate);

Must be able to safely and effectively operate a truck with a utility trailer;

Able to physically stand, bend, squat, and lift up to 40 pounds;
-
Must be dependable;
-
Strong leadership, communications and process improvement skills;
-
Ability to work independently as well as on a team;

Self-starter, motivated and professional

Prefered: CBLP Level 1 certification

Hours and Compensation:
-
Position is seasonal, part-time for 20 hours a week
-
Term of employment is from date of hire to mid-December, 2023 with potential forextension based on funding and work availability

Wage: $18.50/hr

Benefits:

Paid sick leave - 1 hour of Sick and Safe Leave accumulated for every 30 hours worked, accumulating up to 40 hours per year. Accrual starts on the first day of employment and one is eligible to use sick and safe leave after the completion of 30 days of employment
