PROGRAM OVERVIEW
Howard EcoWorks seeks to create green jobs in Howard County while improving watershed health through the construction and maintenance of stormwater and habitat management projects. 

Crew members are trained in the design and installation of green stormwater practices such as rain gardens, maintenance of public and private installations, and stormwater assessment techniques. They receive job skills training and are exposed to local and regional environmental issues. This year Howard EcoWorks is proud to offer Chesapeake Bay Professional Landscaper - Apprentice (CBPL-A) certification!

Description:

Crew Leaders instruct, supervise, and lead a crew of 5 Crew Members throughout their daily work activities. These activities include construction of rain gardens and conservation landscapes, maintenance, invasive plant removals, stream cleanups, and more. Crew Leaders are expected to communicate clearly with operational and administrative staff to facilitate the coordination and logistics of daily work. Crew Leaders are paid a wage of $14.50/hr.

Qualifications: 

  • Must be at least 18 years old and have a valid Maryland Drivers License
  • Demonstrate a strong sense of leadership, maturity, punctuality, good communication skills, and good decision making skills.
